The library holds various events and programs throughout the year. Find out what's happening at the library:

Events and Programs

Children's events:
Babytime for babies ages 0-12 months and their caregivers runs in 6-week sessions beginning in January, March, May, September and November. Call (613) 267-1224 to register.

Storytime for children ages 1-4 years and their caregivers runs in 6-week sessions beginning in January, March, May, September and November. Call (613) 267-1224 to register.

Playgroup: On Wednesday mornings during the school year, the Ontario Early Years Centre holds its Perth playgroup at the library from 10-11:30 a.m. Registration is required for library programs, but the playgroup is drop-in for ages 0-6. You do not have to attend both storytime and the playgroup. You are welcome to bring a snack to the playgroup, but no nut products, please. Owls Tutoring offers one-on-one reading and writing help for children in Kindergarten- Grade 6. Sessions run every Tuesday during the school year from 3:30-4:30 and 4:30-5:30p.m., starting October 11. Registration is required. There is no charge. Please call 613-267-1224 to register.

Read2gether is a family book club held the fourth Thursday of each month from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Call 613-267-1224 to register.

PA Day - Board @ the Library! On PA Days throughout the school year, come play fun board games at the library featuring Twister, the game of LIFE and Chinese checkers! Drop-in from 1-3p.m.

7/12 Club The 7/12 Club for kids ages 7-12 meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 4-5 p.m. Register by calling (613) 267-1224. Each month features a reading corner, games, and crafts.

Forest of Reading: Forest of Reading voting parties are held in April.

Teen events:
Teen Book Club: The Teen Book Club meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m., with books chosen by group members. Sign up to get a copy of the book to read in advance of the meeting.

Craft-T-Tween: Come to the library to make some cool crafts! Second Wednesday of the month, 4-6pm, starting Oct. 12. Register now at the library!

Adult events:
Seniortech and Computer Help:
The library is here to support beginning technology users. One-on-one computer tutoring sessions are available by appointment only. Please call the library to book!
The Seniors Technology Clinic, or Seniortech, provides help with iPads and tablets every Tuesday at 1 p.m. There will be a brief lesson each week on a theme like health apps or e-books, followed by practice time and the chance to get individual help or share ideas with others. Drop-in.

Open Knitting Group: An informal knitting group meets at the library the third Monday of each month from September to June from 1-3 p.m. Drop-in. No experience required. Bring your own knitting project.

French Conversation Group: Parlez-vous Francais? Practice your skills with this conversation group. Beginner: Tuesdays at 6:30pm, Advanced: Thursdays at 6:30pm.

Book Buzz: Meeting on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., this group discusses a wide range of titles. Call to get a copy of the book

Readalikes book club: This book club introduces you to lesser-known works that you'll love if you've read popular titles. First Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. Sign up to get a copy of the book to read in advance.

Film Night International:
Film Night International continues with a great selection of foreign films. Proceeds support the Perth and Smiths Falls libraries. Screenings are Wednesdays at 2 p.m. or 7 p.m. at the Full Circle Theatre. Limited tickets may be available at the door. Learn more.
