We ask that you present your card when you are checking out and renewing books.


Members may borrow as many books as are consistent with their reading requirements for a period of three weeks; however, only one title from the new fiction shelf and one from the new non-fiction shelf may be included.

• The loan period for DVDs will be seven days.
• The loan period for videos will be seven days.
• The loan period for CDs and CD-ROMs will be three weeks.
• The loan period for audiotapes will be three weeks.
• Periodicals may be borrowed for only 7 days.
• Certain materials are available for consultation only in the reference section.

Renewals may be made on all but new items provided no-one has placed a reserve on that item. Renewals may be made over the phone.


The staff shall contact borrowers after an item has been overdue for two weeks. If the item is not returned promptly, borrowers shall be invoiced for the item and all library privileges shall be revoked until the item is returned to the library and all fines are paid. Overdue fines are as follows:

• Adult materials - 25 cents per item per day to a maximum of $7.00 per item
• Children’s materials – 10 cents per item per day to a maximum of $2.50 per item

If books on loan are lost or damaged beyond repair, it is the responsibility of the borrower to pay for their replacement. At the discretion of the librarian, borrowers persistently retaining their books beyond their due date may have their membership cancelled without prior notification.
