Please remember to bring your library card with you when checking out or renewing items. Items can also be renewed online or by phone to (613) 267-1224.


You may check out as many items as you can read during the checkout periods. Items may only be renewed two times and may not be renewed at all if others are waiting.

• The loan period for DVDs and magazines is 7 days.
• The loan period for books, audiobooks, and CDs is 3 weeks.
• Certain materials are available for consultation only in the reference section.
• E-books and e-audiobook loan periods may vary but are generally one or two weeks.

Renewals may be made on all but items provided no one has placed a reserve on that item. Renewals may be made over the phone or online.


Library staff will contact borrowers who have items out past their due dates. Overdue fines are as follows:

• Adult materials - 25 cents per item per day to a maximum of $7 per item
• Children’s materials – 10 cents per item per day to a maximum of $2.50 per item
• There are no fines on uncatalogued paperback books or e-books

If overdue items are not returned promptly, borrowers will be invoiced for the item and all library privileges will be revoked until the item is returned to the library and/or all fines are paid. If books on loan are lost or damaged beyond repair, it is the responsibility of the borrower to pay for their replacement. At the discretion of the chief librarian, borrowers persistently retaining their books beyond their due date may have their membership revoked without prior notification.
