SUMMARY:Sumo-bot Competition with STEAMPUNK Robotics Education Inc. Ages 9-13
DESCRIPTION:Try your hand at building a sumo-bot with Lego Spike sets and have some fun competing against other teams. Robot-sumo is a sport in which two robots attempt to push each other out of a circle (in a similar fashion to the sport of sumo).  Each team will have their own table with a Lego Spike kit\, a laptop and instructions to build and code a sumo-bot. Our awesome STEM programmer will be at hand to help with the building and the coding. Afterwards\, we will pit the sumo-bots against each other and we will declare a winner! \nParticipants are asked to please bring a snack \nMany thanks to the Elizabeth Kelly Foundation  & Lanark County for their generous financial support of this program.

SUMMARY:Terrariums with Rideau Eco Literacy
DESCRIPTION:We will be building closed terrariums with locally sourced and recycled items. We will start with the water cycle and why this will be a self-sustaining environment. Then we will hunt around outdoors for hardscape\, rocks\, mosses\, and the perfect plants to feature in our mini-world. It is the perfect combination of outside exploration\, artistry\, and science. \n\n\n\n\nSnacks will be provided. If you have allergies or dietary requirements- please note them on your registration form. \nREMEMBER TO BRING YOU ECO-KIDDO FIELD NOTES BOOKLET- You will be getting pages that can be added!

This year’s theme is: Around the World  Grab your passport and explore the world at your library! We will be serving lemonade\, and registration will be open for all ages. This year we are happy to partner with Canadian Tire Perth\, to offer 2 gift cards to be used towards bicycles\, Spring Children has put together an amazing goodie bag and Rideau Candy Shoppe has created a delicous gift basket!  Every book read is a ballot for the draw. \n Pick up a copy of our summer calendar on June 9 to find out about all of the amazing programs offered this summer.
