Mornings are my favourite part of the day. The light, the peace, the first sip of coffee, a sharpened pencil for sudoku or a to-do list. That combination makes for the best start to any day. I’ve recently modified my morning routine to include both a quiet meditation and yoga which really add to the restorative quality of the morning lineup. These are the things that keep me going and give me energy for each day. To me, it’s always worth rising with the sun in order to savour a quiet hour or two before the day really ramps up. Would you agree? The only drawback of this habit is my early bedtime but it’s a choice and a luxury in its own way. Also? Full disclosure – sometimes I hit the ‘snooze’ button and sleep right through this opportunity and that’s ok with me.
