The world is full of contradictions. Right now life feels as though it’s simultaneously on pause and throttling forward at an alarming speed. It can be overwhelming. In times of isolation, whether you’re isolating at home or simply limiting your time out and about, it’s easy to become consumed with your own needs, your own ideas, and to lose sight of the bigger picture, that are other people in the world. For some this can be expressed through the downward spiral of anxiety and depression, for others, it can come out as a lack of patience in the grocery store. We are all faced with a challenging time to varying degrees; as humans we have a responsibility to look out for each other, through small acts of kindness, through larger scale activism, and through acknowledgement of our shared humanity in spite of and in celebration of our differences. Today I will leave you with a quote: “In a world where you can be anything, be kind” – Jennifer Dukes Lee
