Ukrainian Easter Egg Class
Learn how to make beautiful pysanky: Easter eggs in the traditional Ukrainian style. Learn about this ancient and beautiful way of ushering in spring and the techniques necessary to transform a plain egg into an intricate work of art. Participants will learn the symbols, cultural context, and lore behind this ancient craft, while also gaining the practical skills of applying wax with a stylus, dyeing, and revealing their egg design.
Cost is $15.00, please bring cash on the day of the event (all materials needed will be provided in the $15.00 fee (eggs, dyes, beeswax, etc.))
March 18th 10:00-12:00 in the Program Room
- Beginner level. Family friendly.
- Ages 8+ (children to be accompanied by an adult)
- Pysanka kits and individuals tools will also be available for purchase with proceeds going to Folk Camp Canada.
