Services
The Perth & District Library lends all sorts of things, including books, eBooks, hotspots, museum passes and more. Visit the library to use WiFi, computers, print, use a meeting room, or attend a program!
Books / Audio / Movies
The Library features more than 35,000 items in its circulating collections.
- Search our catalog for everything from books, eBooks, and audiobooks to TV shows and movies.
- Get a library card to borrow items and take them home!
- Check our borrowing policy for loan periods, late fees, etc. There are no overdue fees on children’s material, teen material, and non-catalogued items such as paperback books or puzzles.
Book Club Sets
The library has a number of book club sets with 8-10 copies per set just for our book clubs.

Computers and internet access
The library has several computers available to provide high-speed internet access as well as a standard suite of software (word processing, etc). You can log on to any available computer using your library card number and password. Guest passes are also available at the circulation desk.
Computer ReUse Program
The library is a partner in the Computer ReUse Program! Have an old laptop? Donate it to the program to give it a second life. Need a laptop? Request one from the program. Register for the Computer ReUse Program
Digital Library

Display Your Artwork
We’re very excited to host local artists and artworks at the library! The library has two exhibition spaces available. Apply to put on an exhibition at the library
Home Delivery
Can’t get to the library? Let the library come to you! Home delivery is a free delivery service. We will bring you a selection of books once a month to your residence within Perth, Tay Valley or Drummond/North Elmsley Townships. Register for Home Delivery
Interlibrary loans
Looking for something that we don’t have in our library’s collection? We provide access to interlibrary loan, where you can request items from other libraries across Ontario.
Kids & Teens
The Perth & District Library has dedicated spaces, collections and programs for babies, toddlers, kids and teens! You’ll want a library card to borrow and bring home anything from our collection, but you don’t need one to visit the library or attend any of our programs. Learn more

The Perth & District Public Library has a growing collection of circulating “things.” You can borrow:

Meeting Rooms
Whether you are scheduling a meeting with your colleagues, planning a community gathering, or need a place to work quietly, our meeting rooms have you covered! We have 3 freely bookable study rooms (4-7 people) and two bookable meetings rooms with an hourly fee (Common Room, 20 people, and Marguerite Frizell, 40 people). Book a room
Museum and Park Passes
The library offers passes to a number of museums and parks in the Ottawa Valley. Learn more or search the catalogue for museum pass or parks pass
Print & Copy Services
- Printing and copying is available for 25 cents per page for black and white, 50 cents per page for colour.
- Scanning is available for free using the scanner on the first floor. You can scan to email or USB.
- Laminating: is available and done by library staff. Material, up to 24” wide, may be dropped off at the library for pick up at the end of the day or the following day. The charge is $2 per foot, with a minimum charge of $5.
Programs
The library runs programs for all ages, from book clubs to concerts and everything in-between! Check our events calendar to see what’s happening. Want to partner with the library to host a program? Pitch a program and let’s hear your great idea!
Seed Library
Lanark County Grows is a seed library located at the Library, put out every spring between March and May. Anyone is welcome to borrow packets of seeds for their garden. In return, we ask that you harvest the seeds and bring them back to us in the fall. Learn more
Tech Tutoring
The Library offers one-on-one tech tutoring appointments with knowledgeable library staff or volunteers. Build your digital confidence and get help with resources such as Libby, Microsoft Office, or a new personal digital device, like a phone or e-reader. Please bring your device. Appointments can be booked for 25 or 55 minutes, depending on your needs, and up to 60 days in advance.

Wireless access is available 5am – midnight inside and outside the building for those with their own devices. The network is called Perth Library and there is no password.
