Computers, WiFi and Internet Access
Computers and internet access
The library has several computers available to provide high-speed internet access as well as a standard suite of software (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation). There is a limit of three hours per day of use on library computers. You can reserve a time slot ahead of time via our library catalogue (login and select “Computer Booking” under “My Account”) or by logging on to any available computer using your library card number and password. Guest passes are available at the circulation desk for those without a library card. One computer is reserved for quick 15-minute sessions to check email or print a document.
Computer sessions are now available from 12pm-4pm, Monday-Friday. Please book online or call ahead to reserve your space. Sessions are currently 45 minutes in length to accommodate for sanitization of computer stations between sessions.
In addition, wireless access is available 24 hours a day inside and outside the building for those with their own devices.
Use of the library’s computer and network (including wireless) is governed by the Access to the Internet policy. By connecting to the library’s network or using one of the library’s computers, you are agreeing to abide by this policy. Users may have their access to the library’s computers or network revoked for any violation of the policy.
The Library also offers two computers dedicated to literacy based games for use in the children’s department. Both computers feature games and quizzes that facilitate learning.
Computer Help: The library is here to support beginning technology users. One-on-one computer tutoring sessions are available by appointment only. Please call the library at 613-267-1224 to book!
Other computer training programs will be listed here when available.
