“Library of Things Room” Coming Soon!
The library’s downstairs ‘blue’ room is being revitalized into a creative space for all ages! This space will house the library’s expanding collection of “things” to take home or use on site. Additional non-circulating equipment, including a Cricut, 3D printer, a die-cutter, and a computer station, are available for patrons by booking the space*.

Renovation of the space will continue over the next few weeks. In accordance with the provincial Roadmap to Reopening, room bookings will resume in Step 3 (estimated July 21st). Check our Services During COVID19 page for more information. The room will then open as a bookable space for use during library opening hours. In Step 3, capacity of the room will be 2 people or up to 8 if booked in conjunction with the adjacent Common Room.
*Please note, use of some in-house equipment may require a one-time training course.
Help us name the "Library of Things Room"
The library is seeking a fun name for this new room. It should capture its function as both makers-space and library of things.
The Perth & District Public Library has a growing collection of circulating “things.”
You can borrow:
- Portable tech & media equipment, such as microphones, cameras, iPads, laptops, wifi hotspots and ereaders.
