The Perth & District Union Public Library is excited to launch a new program this fall: Intergenerational Storytime. This program will be offered on selected dates throughout the fall and winter and will be held in the main lobby of Aspira Carolina Retirement Living. Parents, grandparents and caregivers are encouraged to bring their children and grandchildren to enjoy stories, songs and rhymes with residents from the retirement community, hosted by the library’s Children’s Librarian. This program is best suited for children ages 18 months – 5 years.

“The idea of hosting a storytime outside of the library has been percolating for a while and when a community member suggested Aspira Carolina, it seemed like a good fit. Seeing all ages come together for early literacy is wonderful – it should be an engaging experience for all!” – Heidi Taber

The first Intergenerational Storytime will be held on Monday, September 18th at 10:00 am at 12 Alma Street, Perth, Ontario, with entry through the main doors.

The program is free of charge and drop-ins are welcome (no registration required). Participants will be asked to sign in upon arrival and ensure that they are healthy.
